I recommend this book to every one of my students, from beginners to undergrads in college. The selection of pieces is extensive, and includes many standards in the oboe repertoire, including the Handel sonatas, the Schumann romances and the Mozart Oboe Quartet (entitled Sonata for Oboe and...

If you are incontrovertible that its not your fingering then take it to a repair shop. Sounds like a key is stuck.
Boogiedave | Jul 16, 2009

The higher octave results from the octave key aperture.
Your problem may be it is not closing - or there is another key open up near the top of the oboe.
