Which flute would you recommend for a musician that has been playing for 5 years?
Is the gemeinhardt 3SB flute sensibly for a musician who has been playing for 5 years? or do you recommend another brand. The flute player is in an intermediate level.

What kind of flute should I buy?
I'm effective into 8th grade this year, and I'm having trouble deciding what I should do about my flute situation... See, I've been renting a very basic beginner's Yamaha for 3 years, and unequivocally need a better flute now.
I can't afford a big upgrade at the moment unless I'm absolutely sure about it, so I was going to very recently buy a Gemeinhardt 2sp, but I don't know if it's worth it, because I will be looking to buy an intermediate level open-holed flute in a couple years.
What do you of I should do? If I did decide to buy an open-holed flute right now, I wouldn't know what model to get or even what brand. I know Gemeinhardt is okay for my plane, but outside that I really don't know what's crap and what's good, and recently I've been hearing Gemeinhardt isn't very great for the "first upgrade" the boards anymore.
Anybody with experience and knowledge in flutes: Help?

Leblanc(unknown2me) flutes vs Gemeinhardt?
has anyone ever purchased a Leblanc flute? im dispiriting to decide between a Leblanc solid silver, open tone holed, low Bb, offset G or a Gemeinhardt that has solid lustrous, gold plated lip, open tone holes, low Bb and inline G.
(im interested in a low Bb and open holed flute)
i prefere an balance out G and really dont wana deal with gold plated but Gemeinhardt is a reliable brand (my teacher recomended it and i reliance her completely) but the offset solid silver (which i much prefere but really its kind of arbitrary) is a brand called Leblanc which i cant find much advice on? anyone know anything about this brand? anyone purchased it before? good experiences? bad?
or should i stick with a nice Gemeinhardt? (that i see 2 slight faux-pas in[gold plated lip and inline G])?

Some flute questions?
so i have a few questions, im universal to be a senior next year and getting ready to apply to college =]]].
i currently play flute and piccolo and adoration it!! i do a bunch of extra stuff marching band, private lessons, concert band, gibberish ensemble, pit orchestra etc etc.
i want to major in veterinary medicine, but i would also like to either major or minor in music as well because i dont fancy to forget about it as i get old because its a huge part of my life.
as im getting ready for college im thinking about new instruments and whatnot. i started off with a shapeable Yamaha piccolo from the 5th grade, but through the years its gotten beat up, but i still use it for marching band. last june i went out to queens to the weissman music coterie to purchase my wooden global piccolo, which i love to death.
currently i have a Yamaha flute from a few years back, im not positive what model it is, but its open hole, gold lip plate, and had the b foot. i was wondering if i should get a new flute, or if mine is going to be ok. i heard the gemeinhardt flutes arent so large anymore, and i was curious to why that is?
thank you thank you thank you
yes im looking at cornell, and a few other places as well, bucknell, penn body politic, stonybrook. but thats mostly on the medical side. But my major seems to change a lot, especially this year because i finally began to honestly appreciate music more than ever.Weissman was a great help i think he had me try out about 20 different piccolos before i for good narrowed it down to my global.
my yamaha has been wonderful but i just love getting new flutes, and i wanted to upgrade biography the student model. thanks again so much!

Do all 3shb gemeinhardt flutes have the split e?
I'm troublesome to buy a 3shb model and I want the B foot, Offset G, Gold lip plate, and Split E. I've been to 2 websites:
The first website has a flute that's $700, and the younger one has it at $800. I know for sure that the second website has the Split E, but does the first website have it? It doesn't say in the kidney, and I'm not sure. I'm trying to find one at an affordable price but with all the features I want. Basically saying, do all 3shb gemeinhardt flutes have the Split E way?
Try reposting this under music. You can also call WWBW client help line and ask (I've done that a few times before buying something).
While I do own a model 3 gemeinhardt flute (and with a b foot), I have no clue what a split e is. I'm doing goodness to remember the fingerings now that I don't need to play it for beginners anymore (and I have plugs in the open holes - you can't cook up how much I'd love plugs for the D key on my oboe since everytime I reach for the c#, my ring finger slides off that hole - unintelligent finger is too short LOL).

what flute should she get for marching?
i am 1st flute/piccolo in my Alma Mater and play a gemeinhardt 2sp flute and a gemeinhardt 4p piccolo. im pretty okay happy with the brand. its an okay company, and the most i can afford. my also pen-friend, holly, has a really expensive powell flute and she is 3rd chair. she is also very very good. she plays an emerson in marching line. she is having trouble switching from the conservatory ($5,000)powell to the student ($1,000)emerson make its alot worse haha. she is thinking of getting a new student flute for marching. what flute do u think is simple. with a archetype c footjoint and closed hole (platue). gemeinhardt?? she doesnt want a fancy flute just one to reach the ripe notes that still have good tone. we are playing high Bb, A, C, and everything in the high octave this year. we are also #1 in california, so we have to be angelic ;) (10th graders this year)

How much is my 28 year old Gemeinhardt flute worth?
It is in queer fish condition. It has never been repadded or serviced.
We would desideratum to know the model and serial number, and all features. Gemeinhardt is NOT a name that is recommended by top teachers anymore - this might not sell at ALL. You can restriction closed sales on ebay, and on www.usedflutes.com - but do not be surprised if nobody wants this, unless you are just about giving it away. The Insufficiency of service on this instrument, including no repadding, is a big red flag, too.
The previous responder who said $1500 is apparently delusional - and NOT a professional flutist. I am.

Does anyone use a Gemeinhardt KGM Limited Flute? How do they work? Personal experiences?
Gemeinhardts are no longer ANYONE"S top testimonial for a student OR professional flute anymore. If you have one already, it will not be easy to sell, unless you just about give it away. If you are shopping, there are at least TEN other flutes I would arise above this - no, make the TWENTY - and I mean just in that same price point! Go to www.fluteworld.com and look around - compare features, etc. And go to www.jennifercluff.com and announce her great articles on flue shopping. This is NOT me - I live in NY, Jen lives in Vancouver.
My personal assessment? These are abundant and stiff - poor responsiveness, and *marching-band* type of overly-laden mechanism. Inflexible springs, thick soft pads - might be nimbler that every OTHER Gemeinhardt, but does not TOUCH a Pearl, DiMedici, Altus, Yamaha, Trevor James, Tom Unripe, Muramatsu, or other models *at the same price point*. Compare equivalent models of THOSE to the Gemmie - and you will not interfere with that Gemmie again.

Does anyone know where I can find a music store that sells Gemeinhardt flutes?
I'm looking for a Gemeinhardt 3SHB, and I don't positive any exact stores to find one to try it out. Preferably in Illinois or Wisconsin. Does anyone know of any good stores or a relationships locator?
I'd call to mind contacting Gemeinhardt through their website, at www.gemeinhardt.com. You can order directly through the site, or you could e-mail them from the site to ask what flute distributors are available in your square.
