A: Im not absolutely sure what you mean by 'darker' but I found (like 3 years ago when I played, lol) that I could get a richer sound by pushing out a bigger puff but slower.. if that makes sense?


the only aspect i can recommend is changing your ambesure(mouth possition spelling issues lol ) move your mouth closer to the sax or farther away on the maw piece

thats is inaccurate vvv sorry
to bring out the dark sound in your sax move air faster. by cooling ur air u will achieve soft sound, hot air with fair sound. if u play hot air fast but steady...

The master way would be to find a photo of each, then find a video recording of Miles Davis playing the song. The wikipedia entry doesn't have much detail notwithstanding the solo orders.
